At Poulner Junior School we follow the Little Wandle phonics scheme. 

During Week 1 the children in Year 3 will take part in 5 lessons to recap their learning from Key Stage 1. 

During Week 2 some children will be assessed individually on their phonological knowledge.  These in-depth assessments will be used to ensure your child takes part in future phonic and spelling lessons that are appropriate to their level.  Some children will be assessed based on their reading fluency and will be provided with a banded book.

Every child will receive weekly tasks for you to support them at home at their level.
