Summer term spellings (publisher doc)

This is the statutory word list for Year 5. The statutory lists for each year group are a mixture of words pupils frequently use in their writing and those which they often misspell.

Just in case you have lost your half termly spelling sheet, it is all on the link below! Make sure you use the strategies taught in class. If your child does LEXIA or READING PLUS please make sure they do their 16 units per week.

Spelling riddle

Pronounced as only one letter but written with three - only two different letters are used to make me.  I'm double, I'm single, I'm black blue and grey, I'm read from both ends and the same either way.

Did you know?

Some words can be read upside down!

The word ‘SWIMS’ is an example of a word that can be read upside down, and keep the same meaning! It’s what is known as an ‘ambigram’, meaning you can read the word and understand what it says even if you look at it the other way round!
