IMPORTANT- WATER LEAK 9TH SEPTEMBER 2019 ARRANGEMENTS AND INFORMATION FOR PARENTS
On Friday 6th September a water leak was discovered in the main plant room at school. The Site Manager (Mr Christopher) called the relevant engineers, but due to lagging around the pipes the work cannot be undertaken until the lagging has been checked for asbestos by the Hampshire Scientific team. There is only a very small chance that this will happen before Monday and an even smaller chance that the work will be completed by Monday.
This all means that the school building will not have running water or toilets that can be used.
However the community room uses a different pipe/plant and is fully functioning, based on this we will be opening as normal, but will be taking the following measures:
Breakfast club as normal, but only cereal toast options for breakfast.
Community room toilets will be used and adults will operate shuttle runs to these so that children remain safe and with an adult on site.
Additional adults will be on duty at break and lunch to ensure the toilets work well and children are supervised.
Gerry cans of water will be available to children to refill water, however if you can send your child with an extra water bottle this would be helpful.
NO HOT DINNERS- packed lunches for all children.
Pupil Premium children will have the option of a school kitchen made packed lunch.
The repair work will take place in the plant room so children will not be at any risk during any repairs that take place on Monday.
This is not an ideal situation, but I hope you will appreciate the efforts that we are taking to remain open and to cause families minimal disruption.
Please note that the infant school water is fine, so none of this applies to families where they have children at Poulner Infants and I am waiting for clarification, but believe that this also should not affect after school club.
With new families joining our school all the time, we will do our very best to contact them all and get this information to them, but please feel free to share this information and advise them to check on this page for further information.
Gardening morning (Saturday 7th Sept) will run as planned!!
