We are celebrating following a letter of praise from the Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson.
In a personal message to the Headteacher Jo Randall, the Education Secretary commended the school for the 'excellent outcomes' achieved by its disadvantaged pupils during the 2024/25 academic year.
Headteacher, Jo Randall said ‘The school has been on a significant journey of improvement over the last nine years and this success reflects the hard work and commitment shown by every member of the team. This aspect of school achievement has been led by Deputy Headteacher Katie Cason, and I am so proud to see that our drive for standards can help so many pupils reach their potential. I must also reflect the hard work and commitment of the leaders for Maths and English who have worked relentlessly to put together an engaging and powerful curriculum for all of the pupils.’
The Education Secretary noted that Poulner Junior’s performance now places it ‘among the very best nationally,’ a significant milestone for the school in Ringwood. She attributed this success to the unwavering dedication of the staff and the hard work of the pupils, stating that the academy serves as a model for what is possible when ‘ambition and commitment come together.’
Headteacher Jo Randall said: For us, the journey continues, as we strive to do even better for current children and the many that follow. We believe that academic success can only be achieved when pupils feel safe and nurtured and excited to learn. I am grateful for the commitment of my colleagues and the support from the families in our community.”
