Outdoor P.E. lessons are on Thursday for both classes

Indoor PE lessons are on Tuesdays for both classes

Weekly spellings will be sent home on Tuesdays. 

Maths homework will be sent home on a Thursday and taken in on Tuesday.

Autumn Term

In the second half of this term, we will develop and build on our knowledge of the Anglo-Saxons and explore the Viking era that followed. The children will immerse themselves in Viking life through their residential to Hooke Court and explore the question of whether the Vikings were as savage and brutal as they are portrayed. 

In Science, we are investigating how we hear through the journey of initial sound waves to the outer, middle and inner ear. They will also discover the smallest bones in their body! A well planned and fair experiment using drums will consolidate their new knowledge.

In Guided Reading we will be starting to explore The firework Makers Daughter by Philip Pullman.

Your child will now have a Times table revision book to complete each week as homework. Times Tables are the backbone of the maths curriculum and knowing them fluently, will allow your child a smoother journey through their maths education. The planned pages to be completed for each week are listed below.

On Thursday mornings we have Mrs Prest, a teacher from Hampshire Music Service, come in to teach us - over the year we will have learnt to play three different instruments!

This term we are learning to play the Keyboard! We will be performing a concert to our parents on Thursday 11th December at 10am in the school hall. 

In Year 4 we focus on making sure we all know our Times Tables. Don't forget to log in regularly and complete a soundcheck game so that you can keep an eye on your progress and aim for the next certificate level!
