Outdoor Learning

Outdoor Learning is great fun!

In Year 3 we enjoy Outdoor Learning sessions led by Miss Smith.  Ask your child about all the exciting activities set in our wonderful outdoor environment.

Thank you in advance to all parents/carers for remembering our Outdoor Learning days and ensuring your child is well-prepared with wellies, warm accessories and waterproof trousers.  It is really helpful if wellies are cleaned after sessions so that dried muddy boots don't mark the carpets on our next session!

Parents will be notified of Outdoor Learning days, so please help remind each other, as it makes the sessions start promptly when children have the correct equipment to change into.

Below are some photos of examples of Outdoor sessions we have had in Year 3 - the yearly plan changes, so these are just a taster of what may be to come!

Den Building Sessions

Sailing Sessions

Visit from the Owl Sanctuary Session

Fire Lighting Sessions

New Forest Ranger Visit

Our End of Year Camping Experience

This is a fantastic website full of ideas about how you can enhance outdoor learning experiences with your child.

In our outdoor learning sessions, we have been spotting different types of birds.  This website link will help you spot birds in your garden, at the local park and on your way to school.

As part of the Science curriculum, children should be able to identify common trees.  Here is a useful website to support this.
