Look at the shoe box pictures below that Simmonds class designed and made. Think about the following questions:

  1. What do you notice about the plant?
  2. Which way has it grown?
  3. Why do you think it has grown like this?
  4. Why is the plant white and not green?

Once you have thought about these, write a conclusion of the experiment in your home learning books, explaining what you can see and why you think this has happened.

Once you have done this, if you have some seeds at home, plant them and each day write a Seed diary, observing everything that is happening to the seed/ plant. If you don't have any seeds at home, go outside and find a plant/ flower and observe what happens to that over the next week or so and write a diary each day.
