The Getaway classroom was funded entirely by the PTA. This new building cost a total of £27,000 - including the foundations/pathwork, the actual building itself/electrics/safety features/carpeting etc etc. This money had been raised over a number of successful years - mainly of course from the fireworks event for the last few years.
We lost many of our committee in July as their children moved up to Year 7, so please have a think about getting involved in the PTA yourself - it's very rewarding, especially when we can pay for something like the new classroom. Our next big target is for a replacement minibus in a couple of year's time. We recently purchased new curtains (£3,000) for the school hall as well as funding Science and English resources, the year 6 leavers' books, some new equipment for the lunch time club and other bits and pieces from the teachers' wish-lists.
BAGS2SCHOOL - we will be arranging a Bag2School collection every term now - this is a very good way to clear our clutter, whilst making easy money for the PTA funds. NEXT DATE: Wed 1st November 2017; Dates for rest of school year are Wed 7th March 2018 and Wed 30th May 2018.

Sat 4th November - Fireworks Extravaganza - many volunteers needed - please contact Natasha MacKenzie or leave your name/details with reception.
It WILL always go ahead - unless there are strong winds, so please don't be put off it is a bit wet. 2016's event was amazing as usual and we have the same team doing the show this year (as they have done for around 12 years now!).

This club has been running for a few years now - members pay £10 per term.
50% of the proceeds go to the PTA and 50% are paid out in winnings - you've got to be in it to win it! And the more members, the higher the potential winnings. Any queries - speak with Emma Rodgers.
Our outgoing Chair of PTA is Angie Chappell - she has now left the school as her youngest went up to year 7, but is around if anyone has any queries; Deputy Chair position is vacant; Treasurer is Emma Rodgers; Secretary position is vacant. Welcome to Poulner Junior school PTA. Congratulations. you are already a member!
Our PTA is a vibrant and supportive parent community with a track record of highly successful fund raising and social events.
Active parental support is vital to the well being of the school. We are always looking for new enthusiastic parent contributors.
We meet once to plan fund raising and social events.
If you feel that you can contribute in any way please contact the chairperson for the PTA via the school office or simply turn up and join us!
Our main fund raising event is our annual Fireworks display. This takes some organising. We need a trained firing team and we begin organising in July.
With funds raised we help run the minibus (purchased with PTA funds). We have also purchased play equipment, interactive whiteboards, projectors, digital cameras and books for the children. Last year we have also purchased backdrop curtains for school performances, football goals for the playground, gardening equipment for the class gardening plots and all-important safety equipment to aid in the running of the swimming pool plus the major building spend mentioned above. The next target is for a replacement minibus, but all new members will have a chance to come along with suggestions of what we might raise further funds for.
