A Team Report
On Saturday 18th June 2011 Poulner entered the school football tournament and arrived at 9:30 and found out that we may have to play in the rain later on. Despite the fact that we may have to play in the rain we still got a football from Mr Archer and started to train. Swiftly we went onto matches. Our first game was against Lymington and in the first half (5 mins) we dominated possession however the score was still 0-0. As we were doing so well we kept the same team on the pitch. Luckily Luke Mortimore scored, the game finished 1-0. Next up were the former champions Ashley junior school (who had won their first game 7-0) it was a very close game but thanks to Daniel Taylor we won the game 1-0. After that we played against Blackfield who were also unbeaten so far but once again we won 1-0 thanks to another goal from Luke Mortimore. Our final group game was against Marchwood B we won 3-0 thanks to goals from Christian Whalen, Naim Khan and Luke Mortimore. We advanced to the semi-finals finishing 1st in our group without conceding a single goal! In the semi-final we played Poulner B, we got off to a poor start with them scoring in the first 2 minutes but we had great team spirit and Christian Whalen equalized in the second half and it stayed 1-1 which meant extra-time. We dominated extra-time and got a well deserved winner from Dominic Charalambous, and what a goal it was too. Poulner A through to the final! The final was against Marchwood A, it was tense and in the first half we came so close to getting a well deserved goal so many times but we had to settle for 0-0 at half-time. Straight from kick off we scored an amazing team goal which was beautifully placed by Christian Whalen 1-0. We held our nerve till the final whistle, when the ref blew for fulltime we were elated. We are now the New Forest school champions thanks to Robert Brooks our goal keeper, Jez Adgie-Dennison our captain, Matthew Real our solid defender, Ben Mortimore another great defender, Dominic Charalambous our semi-final hero, Naim Khan our left foot hero, Christian Whalen our final hero, Daniel Taylor our important goal scorer and Luke Mortimore our goal machine. A great squad effort and a superb manager who led us to glory and that is Mr Archer.

B team report
Our first game was against Fordingbridge A and by half time a fantastic goal was scored by Alex (an own goal!)In the second half Poulner dominated the field and grabbed two spectacular goals by Matt, sealing a well deserved 2-1 victory!
Next, we played Marchwood A, however, unfortunately, despite our high spirits we lost 2-0. They went on to be Runners-up in the whole tournament though so we did well.
In our third match of the group stages we came up against Orchard B, and snatched a late 2-1 win with hero Jack scoring both. We progressed into the semi-final only to discover we had to play Poulner A!...
We were fired up and were ready to deliver an win. By half time we were 1-0 up and the team were unbeatable the defence was like a rock and in midfield they were spraying passes through the gaps and on to the striker! Unfortunately we lost that game 2-1.
We had thought that it was our last game but fortunately we still had 3rd or 4th place match to be played against Pennington and unfortunately lost in penalties. We finished the tournament in 4th. Thank you to all the players for there effort in the tournament and THANK YOU MISS MARSHALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
